For over 45 years, NUTEC has been a leading innovator in thermal solutions and highly specialized industrial furnaces for a wide range of industries. The group of companies operates in more than 50 countries around the world. Managing the IT infrastructure, particularly across its many international sites, was a time-consuming challenge, as was procuring devices as required and maintaining an overview of the inventory. That all changed when NUTEC turned to CHG-MERIDIAN for a tailored service that offers flexible management, detailed financial control, and straightforward reporting.
At its six production sites in Europe, North America, and South America, NUTEC manufactures a wide range of high-performance thermal insulation solutions, high-temperature insulation and passive fire protection products, and specialized vacuum-formed parts. These are used in the aerospace industry, in the construction sector, in foundries, in power generation, and in the transportation sector, among others. NUTEC already leased the servers, laptops, and desktops it uses in production and administration. But the ever-growing number of assets made it increasingly difficult to keep track of the individual devices and monitor their leasing plans. What’s more, the complex processes were time-consuming and generated a lot of administrative overhead.
NUTEC’s need for simple, efficient procurement and administration processes for all of its IT equipment led to a partnership with CHG-MERIDIAN. “The main factor for us was that CHG-MERIDIAN was able to integrate all the components of this project into one single offer. Currently, we have not found another company that could integrate all these types of services,” says Mauro Cueva, Digital Platforms Manager at NUTEC Group. CHG-MERIDIAN’s holistic solution met the group’s needs in three ways. First, by providing technical equipment geared precisely to NUTEC’s requirements. Second, by having less of an impact on cash flow, a common benefit of leasing. And third, by including CHG-MERIDIAN’s tesma asset management system.
The tesma digital platform gives NUTEC a complete overview of the group’s IT landscape, encompassing the entire lifecycle of each asset. All necessary information, from current inventory to lease term and invoicing, can be viewed in a user-friendly dashboard. “Since introducing tesma in mid-2022, each department has been able to easily access all commercial and technical data relating to the leased assets. Our processes are now much quicker and our financial planning is more straightforward. We can see at any time where our resources and investments are and how they are progressing,” says Cueva, summarizing the key points.
NUTEC initially trialed the services, including the centralization of information, at its three sites in Mexico. CHG-MERIDIAN’s end-to-end solution proved so successful that NUTEC is planning to introduce it as best practice at its other sites. International IT procurement based on uniform standards will reduce complexity and make it easier to adhere to rules across the group. Thanks to its global presence in 30 countries and considerable experience in international order processes, CHG-MERIDIAN can ensure that importing devices, for example, is also straightforward. Given the high potential for further optimization, NUTEC hopes to expand its partnership with CHG-MERIDIAN at regional level and expand the solution to include logistics equipment.
“The automated procurement process and efficient asset management make our day-to-day tasks much easier. And the transparency, innovative processes, and international scope that we gain through our partnership with CHG-MERIDIAN provide us with significant added value.”
