At an evening event of the 2023 Hauptstadtkongress convention, experts from the German healthcare sector hosted a discussion on the subject of sustainability management. Peter Krause, Head of Healthcare Sector Sales Central Europe, opened the event and highlighted that sustainability plays a key role at CHG-MERIDIAN. Intelligent and flexible usage models for healthcare technology and IT can reduce resource consumption and enable companies to remarket devices and recycle components. These sustainable solutions are not just good for the environment but can also help to unlock budget savings.

“All in all, a usage model is a very sustainable concept. It ensures that our solutions are environmentally friendly and, at the same time, allows us to conserve budget resources and even achieve savings. That’s a win for the planet and for our customers’ wallets.”

Peter Krause, Head of Healthcare Sector Sales Central Europe CHG-MERIDIAN AG

In his keynote speech, Dr. Sven Jansen, CEO and Business Strategist at NEO Q GmbH, emphasized how closely sustainability is linked to current challenges. He referred to the demand made by the German Medical Assembly for the healthcare system to become climate-neutral by 2030. Effective sustainability management is absolutely essential despite financial constraints. Jansen highlighted the importance of a holistic approach to sustainability that encompasses not only environmental but also economic and cultural aspects.

This requires a society-wide shift in mindset in order to motivate people to take the subject of sustainability seriously and tackle it head-on. Everyone needs to show personal initiative rather than abdicating the responsibility for solving all current challenges to political leaders. The cultural shift that is already manifest among the younger generation will be crucial in this regard. Solving the challenges of our time requires a new style of management and collective, concerted action.

"EVERY BUSINESS CAN MAKE A CONTRIBUTION - START SMALL, THINK BIG."

Dr. SVEN JANSEN, CEO NEO Q GmbH

The evening event under the headline “Sustainability management in spite of diminishing investment capacity” delivered meaningful insights. Both Peter Krause and Dr. Sven Jansen stressed the importance of sustainability in healthcare and presented possible approaches for solving current issues. The event crystallized the need for comprehensive sustainability management that takes account of environmental, economic, and cultural aspects. It also demonstrated that effecting sustainable change and solving the challenges of our time will require a unified approach and a shift in mindset across society.
